ADEL BENTOUNSI

Adel Bentounsi is a highly skilled and versatile contemporary visual artist who was born in the city of Annaba, Algeria in May 1982. Despite beginning his studies at the Annaba School of Fine Arts, and obtaining his Diploma in 2007, Adel was unfortunately dismissed from the institution in 2008, which meant that he was unable to pursue further education in art at any Algerian schools. Determined to continue his artistic journey, Adel eventually enrolled in the Higher French School of Dunkerque in 2013, but he ultimately chose to leave after completing only one year of study there. Throughout his career, Adel has demonstrated an impressive range of artistic abilities, including expertise in various mediums such as photography, video art, performance, installation, graphic design, drawing, and painting. Adel is a deeply philosophical and thoughtful artist who believes that the act of creating art is a process that involves both doubt and resistance. And this belief is reflected in the thought-provoking and introspective nature of his work.

His art has been featured in numerous exhibitions in countries such as Algeria, France, Belgium, Morocco, Senegal, Palestine, and Lebanon. Adel Bentounsi currently resides and works in the city of Paris, France, where he continues to create and showcase his work. His artistic practice encompasses a wide range of mediums, including photography, video art, performance, installation, graphic art, drawing, and painting.

Adel’s artworks are available exclusively online through our partner gallery, Marsoum Art Collective
